How to: Add a Dynamic Column or Row to a Matrix (Report Designer)

To add a dynamic column or row to a matrix

In Layout view, drag the field from the Datasets window onto a column or row header in the matrix.

Note

If the Datasets window does not appear, in the View menu, click Datasets.
Repeat step 1 to add multiple dynamic columns or rows to a matrix.

The column or row splits to create another dynamic column or row. The position of the new column or row depends on which side the field was dropped: for a column, a bar appears above or below the existing cell; for a row, a bar appears to the left or right of the existing cell.
